Band Announcements

Weekly Announcements 5.19.24

Seniors,

“You have brains in your head. You have feet in your shoes. You can steer yourself any direction you choose. You're on your own. And you know what you know. And YOU are the one who'll decide where to go...” ― Dr. Seuss, Oh, The Places You'll Go!

This will be the last weekly announcement that you will receive as members of the LHS Band. You are now ALUMNI! It is our hope that you continue to love music and keep it an important part of your life. Thank you for your dedication and service to the Wolverine Band this year and making memories of a lifetime.  We also hope you continue to support and advocate for the LHS Band and Music Education. Thank you all for what you have done to help the band move forward and if you need anything don't hesitate to ask! Remember to keep your heart sincere and your pathway straight.

May Mini Camp

I wanted to inform you that we will be postponing our May Mini Marching Band Camp to Monday, May 20th, 2024, from 4:30pm to 6:30pm and Tuesday, May 21st, 2024 from 4:30 – 6:30pm.

Thank you for your understanding and flexibility.

Band Dues

Band dues will be $350 for the 2023 Marching Band season. Many of you have paid in full, and you may ignore the rest of this message. If you are unsure, please see Mr. Callahan this week. I will be reaching out to parents and students who still owe marching band dues for the 2023-2024 school year.

Seniors who still owe dues at the end of the school year are placed on the Senior Delinquency List. We do not want this to affect any of you. Again, if you have any questions, please see Mr. Callahan as soon as possible!

May Mini Marching Band Camp: What to Wear

To ensure comfort and safety, it is important that students are dressed appropriately. In order to safely participate students should wear:

  • Comfortable, loose-fitting, school-appropriate clothing (t-shirts and shorts work best).

  • Hat / Sunglasses to protect eyes from the sun

  • Athletic footwear. Flip flops/sandals/ crocs may not be worn during band camp. Students that do not have appropriate footwear will be asked to wear their marching shoes for their own safety.

What to Bring

  • Instrument in working condition.

  • Pencils, plastic sleeves, and three ring binder to store music.

  • Sticks and mallets for percussion instrumentalist.

  • Bottle of water.

Ways of Communication

We communicate to parents and students through several avenues.  One doesn’t have to have access to all of the avenues to get the information.

Band App - A quick and easy way for parents or students to communicate is to send a text directly to a director.

If you haven’t already made sure you email the directors and let us know if you are going to be out of town and unable to attend camp.

Make sure to email Mr. Callahan (callahanr@rcschools.net) if you have any questions!
